Third generation, second wind

Solarium opened in 1974 as a florist's, survived three decades as a fax-machine repair shop, and reopened in 2022 when Nina inherited the keys and filled the windows with monsteras. The terrazzo floor is original. So is the till.

Come in for a plant, stay for the argument about whether fenestration is earned or given.

Overheard at the till

"Nina talked me out of buying a fiddle-leaf fig. Sold me a zz plant instead. Eighteen months later, both of us are alive."

— Ola, north-facing windows

"They plant-sat my collection for three weeks and my calathea came back less dramatic than when I left it. Witchcraft."

— Marcin, 34 pots and counting

Frequently watered questions

I kill everything. Where do I start?

With honesty, which you've already done. Come in, tell us your light and your habits — there's a plant for "waters things monthly, remembers them fondly."

Do you repot plants I bought elsewhere?

Yes. Repotting costs the price of the soil plus your plant's new pot, wherever the plant came from.

How does plant-sitting work?

Book a shelf, drop your plants off watered, and collect them when you're back. Priced per shelf per week — collections over twenty pots get their own corner and a discount.
